New Hampshire’s charitable gaming industry climbed to a record high in May 2026. The Lottery Commission reported $46.9 million in revenue for the month, a staggering 30.2% year-over-year growth. The key enforcer for this growth has been video lottery terminals (VTLs).
Video lottery terminals (VLTs), often called slot machines, have played a major role in the recent growth of New Hampshire’s gambling sector. They generated more than $24 million in May and have become a primary source of revenue. Â
While traditional games of chance brought in $10.4 million, recording a 5.5% increase from last year. Horse racing was down by 53.1% to 12.3 million, showcasing a significant dip in player interest.
