Holland Casino Online Secures Five-Year Extension in the Netherlands

The Netherlands Gaming Authority (Kansspelautoriteit) announced the licence extension on 6th August. Holland Casino Online can continue its services from 1 October 2026 until at least 2031. Player protection is a priority for the company. Holland Casino CEO Petra de Ruiter will continue to focus on this to promote responsible online gambling.
The operator also emphasized that good regulated market attractiveness is important. Holland Casino thinks that a competitive legal market can cut down on customer loss to unlicensed betting sites. These sites are less regulated and provide fewer consumer protections.
Gambling operators in the Netherlands face more financial pressure because they are receiving licence extensions. The gambling tax rate increased from 33.9% to 37.8% of gross gaming revenue in January 2025.
Holland Casino has expressed worries about the tax hikes. They believe that higher taxes could reduce their profits. The first rise will account for an extra €13.5m in expenses for the company in the first six months of 2025.
The government of the Netherlands had hoped for an extra €200 million a year from the tax changes from 2025 to 2028.
The new licence will ensure Holland Casino Online stays in the regulated Dutch market, despite these challenges. The operator now has five more years to adapt to the country’s rules and taxes as it expands its business.
