  • Latest reports show that Kazakhstan’s tourism sector has attracted $2.6 billion in investments.

Kazakhstan has approved the establishment of new casino zones in strategic locations to bolster the country’s tourism. The regions chosen to organize to offer gambling recreation for tourists are:

  •  Mangistau region on the Caspian Sea coast
  • Panfilov district and the shores of Lake Alakol, Zhetysu region
  • The Talgar district in the Almaty region
  • Markakol area and Zaisan district in East Kazakhstan
Unlike the two existing casino zones at Konayev (Almaty region)  and Shchuchinsk-Borovoye (Akmola), which are accessible to everyone. The new gaming areas are especially reserved for foreigners to participate. Authorities claim that these regions are chosen solely for broader economic objectives.

Policymakers ensure that places such as natural reserves, heritage sites, and key areas are protected.

Baurzhan Rapikov, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports, quoted that “The expected economic impact includes around 500 jobs per casino, annual tax revenues of 2-4 billion tenge, and an increase in the number of gambling tourists from the current 100,000 to 200,000.”

According to sources, casino revenue is close to 1.25 trillion, with investments surpassing $2.6 billion.
