The tourism data reveal that the Nevada gaming industry had a difficult 2025, raising questions about its uncertain future.Â
The Strip saw a 6% decline, to $827.7 million, further reducing year-over-year to $8.8 billion.Â
The reports from the Nevada Gaming Control Board said that the state’s gross gaming revenue for the month reached $1.43 billion, recording a year-over-year decrease of 15% in total GGR and a year-over-year increase of 1.2% to $15.8 billion.Â
Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority data highlighted 9% fall from the previous year, with visitation down to 3.09 million. And 38.5 million people visited Las Vegas in 2025, a 7.5% decline from 2024.
However, the results were mixed in sports betting. The strip has won $156 million on the game in December, which represents a 20% YoY decrease. Performance of the segment continues to fluctuate in the strip and was flat over the last 3 months, but +3% for the calendar year.
