Highlights

  • Seaport research analyst projecting year-to-year gaming revenue of 19%.

  • The reports suggest the first-quarter growth of around 14%.

After a whelming performance in December 2025, the Seaport Research reports the growth by 19% year-on-year for January.

The analyst Vitaly Umansky, in this statement on Wednesday, stated that “The month has started quite strong — possibly over MOP850 million [US$106 million] per day in the January 1 to 4 holiday weekend”. In the previous month of December, there was a 14% rise in GGR amounting to MOP20.9 million, but 0.9% less than in November.

But the total GGR collected for the previous year 2025 stands at MOP247.4 billion, which far surpassed the projection of MOP228 billion by Macau Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai.

The analysts note that the total gross gaming revenue in Macau will experience an increase of 14% during the first quarter, and overall, there will be a sustained growth rate of 7% throughout 2026.

Umansky also highlighted that “Macau remains a secular growth market, driven by an increasing wealth effect in China with high propensity to gamble and increasing travel spend”.
