The total tax collected via sports betting in Arizona was $1.9 million during September.
The sports betting handle in Arizona has grown by 16.3% year-over-year, reaching $851.3 million. The revenue achieved was 39.4% higher than $610.7 million in the previous month. However, the adjusted sports betting revenue slipped to 3 3-year low.
The online betting platforms contributed $847 million, and the remaining $4.4 million comes from retail sportsbooks. However, after deducting free bets and promotional offers, the gross income was reduced to $55 million. This turned out to be a very productive month for players, as they received back $794.3 million in winning pay-outs.
The revenue held by the state was 6.46% before free bets and promotional deductions. The calculations revealed that the hold was down to 2.3%. The sports betting sector accounts for a tax income of $1.9 million.Â
