North Carolina sports betting reached a new high, reaching $811.4 million in bets during October.

Operators in North Carolina collected $811.4 million in sports betting revenue during October. This beats the previous best of $685 million, which was recorded in March this year. It has a record of 32.6% year-over-year growth, 18.3% higher than the previous month.
The North Carolina State Lottery Commission highlighted paid wagering reaching $784.3 million. An additional $27.1 million was funded by operators as promotional wagers. Around $4.3 million accounts for cancelled and voided wagers, while $729 million in winning payouts is handed to players.
The total revenue jumped by 60.4% from the previous year and was also 16.9% higher than in September. From July to October, consumer spending on sports betting activity accounted for $2.35 billion. This is a combined result of paid wagering and promotional bets. During this period, the total tax income generated stands at $39.9 million.
