The Secretariat of Prizes and Bets’ (SPA) newly built framework empowers players to compete on their merits, with self-exclusion and setting limit options. This legal mandate was announced on Monday, further strengthening its policy of protecting wagers and promoting responsible gambling.
The Federal Data Processing Service has designed a centralized self-exclusion platform, which is set to be implemented by 2025. Under this new regime, players can opt out of betting activities. This applies to both fixed-period and permanent biases.
SPA chief Regis Dudena stated that players’ protection is the regulator’s foremost concern and remains confident that the new self-exclusion policy will be successful. Brazilian operators have been given 30 days to adjust to self-exclusion requirements.
Betting companies have been given a 90-day timeline to implement self-limiting tools and update registration forms for their respective iGaming platforms.
