-
The total wagering amount spent by the betters was $370.4 million, becoming the second lowest figure.
The North Carolina State Lottery Commission data revealed that the sportsbook churned out only $370.4 million and received a payout of $22.7 million. North Carolina’s Sports betting year-over-year revenue drops by 46.2%. Â
However, the gaming industry performed slightly better than July of the previous year, which accounted for just $340.4 million.
The last two months were rewarding for the sports betting operators as they made a profit of $123 million. The operators hold 6.13 % of the gross revenue to start the second half of 2025. This resulted in lower tax from sports betting, which stands at $4.2 million.
Generally, July is considered the least productive month for sportsbook operators as limited sporting events happen during this time. In the upcoming years, we could probably expect a rise in betting activity as most games of the 2026 FIFA World Cup are hosted in the US.
