Recently, four Republican candidates contesting for the open Texas attorney general position are keen to incorporate strict gambling laws.
Industry sources from this month’s Global Gaming Expo have opined that Paxton could be the next attorney general to crack down on dual currency sweepstakes operators offering casino and sports betting platforms.
Over the past several sessions, there have been many attempts to legalise sports betting and casino gambling in Texas. The state’s legislature only unites in odd years, with the next meeting possibly occurring in 2027.Â
Patrik, determined to oppose gambling, controls the Senate; he refuses to pass a bill without a Republican majority endorsing it. In the end, the Texas GOP stance is officially anti-gambling.
