Over 80M Impressions Mark Record Safer Gambling Week

  • Safer Gambling Week 2025 has delivered its strongest results with more than 80 million impressions across social media.

  • BGC Chief Executive Grainne Hurst indicated that more uptake of these safer gambling tools following the campaign.

More than 80 million impressions were generated in Safer Gambling Week 2025 across the social media sites of the UK and Ireland. This record is attributed to the support received from operators, professional football clubs, and politicians.

With reference to the 9th edition of the campaign, which ran from 17 to 23 November, it marks a 40% increase from the previous year.  This consisted of messages creating awareness about the available tools that help them seize control over their betting activity. 

The Betting and Gaming Council (BGC), BACTA and Bingo Association have arranged for another campaign in the regions of the UK and Ireland.

BGC Chief Executive Grainne Hurst highlighted that the latest published report showcases the industry’s commitment to enlightening the general public about safer gambling tools. 

She added that “In previous years, increases in online activity have translated into greater uptake of tools such as time-outs and deposit limits, and we expect to see the same trend again”.
