North Carolina Sports Betting Reaches New High in November

North Carolina sports betting has achieved the second-highest total in November from the start of legal online wagering.

The state’s handle for the five months till the end of November surpassed the $3 billion mark.
The sports betting handle has been on the rise for the second consecutive month as total players’ bets in sportsbook rose to $814 million in November. This is slightly ahead of the previous record of $811.4 million set in October this year. It also reflects a 23.8% year-over-year growth rate.
Reports from the North Carolina State Lottery Commission revealed $791.7 million of the total handle was “paid wagering revenue”. The remaining $22.3 million was associated with promo wagering revenue.
The commission also voided $3.5 million worth of bets and claimed a total winning of $717.6 million for the month. And the gambling revenue for November touched $92.9 million.Ā This figure just precedes the $105.3 million in April 2024.
Sports betting tax amounts for $16.7 million during November. In the current fiscal year, the sum of state handles crossed $ 3 billion.Ā
